The Yellow Jacket Cichlid (Parachromis friedrichsthalii) is a striking and highly sought-after Central American cichlid known for its bold patterning and vibrant coloration. Juveniles often show a golden-yellow body with bold black barring, while adults develop more intense contrasts and a unique “jaguar-like” spotting pattern.

These cichlids are active, intelligent, and can display fascinating behaviors, especially during breeding.
