Heckelii (Acarichthys heckelii) are a stunning South American Cichlid which, as they mature, develop remarkable filament-like extensions on their dorsal fin. Hence their other common name, the Threadfin Acara.
Adults have iridescent blue-green and bright yellow markings and the scales on their sides reflect light making it appear that they have bright neon lights attached to them. The males are especially colorful.
A favorite among cichlid enthusiasts due to their unusually peaceful nature, they will normally not prey on anything larger than a couple of centimeters in size.
Not a fussy eater, supplement pellets or flake with bloodworm, or brine shrimp, and include some vegetable matter to bring out their best.
Water Conditions:
6-8 pH
75 - 86 F
2 - 15 KH
Breeding: Captive bred on our farm.

Super cool fish
Always great quality cichlids and this one was no different. Great fish
The picture was misleading. They are regular Threadfin Acara. But they arrived alive and healthy so that was a good thing! Second time ordering from here(not the same fish) and had good luck both times.
