The Salvani cichlid (Trichromis salvini) also known as the Tabasco, Tricolor, and Fire Red Belly cichlid, is usually thought to be aggressive; however, the strain that we have raised show very little aggression towards tank mates of a similar size.
A popular fish among hobbyists, as they are unusually colorful as juveniles and only get better with age. Their long fins have a turquoise blue sheen, in contrast to their bright yellow body which is accented by dark lines running from their eyes to their tail. Turquoise blue dots are scattered across their body and the females develop even more of a bright red belly than the males.
