The Moanda Jewel Cichlid (Hemichromis sp. “Moanda”) is a brilliantly red West African cichlid sprinkled with shimmering blue spots. Growing to about 4 inches, it’s less aggressive than many other Jewel cichlids but still becomes territorial during breeding. This hardy species does best in a well-structured aquarium with hiding places and accepts high-quality flakes, pellets, and meaty foods like bloodworms or brine shrimp.
