Gold Nigrita
Gold Nigrita
The Gold Nigrita (Synodontis nigrita) is a unique and uncommon golden coloration: a rare color variant within its species. The small juveniles are more creamy yellow in color, which evolves into a striking gold once they are about 3 to 4 inches in length.
Primarily nocturnal in nature, like most Synodontis, once acclimated to an aquarium they can become active during daytime hours when provided with cave like hiding places. Even something as simple as a piece of green bamboo, or PVC pipe, works well.
It is compatible with most fish, including African Cichlids, but should not be housed with ornamental invertebrates as it primarily feeds on them in the wild.
