The Black Nasty Cichlid (Nandopsis haitiensis), also know as the Haitian Cichlid, is a native of Haiti and the Dominican Republic and makes for a majestic center display in a large aquarium. The jet-black breeding colors are absolutely stunning.
Full of personality, and quite aggressive, tank mates can be a challenge. Some hobbyists have been successful keeping them with Plecos, Green Terrors, and Red Devils of a similar size.
